School's Administration

Welcome to Lechwe School
The whole school is headed by a Principal. There is an
Accounts Office manned by a Finance Manager and three assistants. A
School Administrator and the secretarial
staff comprising a Secretary/Registrar, Secretary/Receptionist and
Examination Secretary
The Secondary department has a Modern Language
Department, very active Music and Sports Departments, three well-equipped
Science Laboratories, a Design and Technology Block, a Multimedia
Secondary Computer
Room with broadband Internet access, a Secondary Art Room and Boarding Hostels.
The Primary has its own Computer, Art and
Science rooms.
A House system of two houses is in
place, Kafue and Zambezi, for competition purposes.
SECURITY SYSTEM
A team of twelve security guards patrol the
school, the teachers' residential area and the hostels on a twenty-four
hour basis. The school is also connected to Securicor's Rapid Response
Unit by means of panic buttons placed around the school and hostels.
TUCK-SHOP
The Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.) lease out the Tuck
Shop.
Nutritious and health- conscious snacks and drinks are on sale to the
children at break times and lunch times.
THE SCHOOL CLINIC
The School Clinic is manned by a fully
qualified nurse who copes with most aches and pains experienced by
children, teachers and ancillary staff.
Minor injuries are treated and
medication is administered for the routine ailments. For boarding
students 24-hour cover is in place. A doctor is also on call 24 hours a
day for any problems the nurse is unable to cope with. Day students are
treated for minor problems but parents are contacted to take sick
children to the Doctor if the problem is serious.
Medical care is organised for
administrative and academic staff where requested and the nurse liaises
with the doctor for treatment. All ancillary staff and their families
are treated by the school nurse. Advice on general health and welfare is
offered and rendered to all students and staff.
There is interaction with the Physical
Education Department and talks and demonstrations are given to classes
on medical topics. Medical check ups are carried out on all students
twice yearly to monitor development.
