School Clinic

Sister Julie- school nurse
The School Clinic is manned by a fully
qualified nurse who copes with most aches and pains experienced by
children, teachers and ancillary staff.
Minor injuries are treated and
medication is administered for the routine ailments. For boarding
students 24-hour cover is in place. A doctor is also on call 24 hours a
day for any problems the nurse is unable to cope with. Day students are
treated for minor problems but parents are contacted to take sick
children to the Doctor if the problem is serious.
Medical care is organised for
administrative and academic staff where requested and the nurse liaises
with the doctor for treatment. All ancillary staff and their families
are treated by the school nurse. Advice on general health and welfare is
offered and rendered to all students and staff.
There is interaction with the Physical
Education Department and talks and demonstrations are given to classes
on medical topics. Medical check ups are carried out on all students
twice yearly to monitor development.
