BOARDING FACILITIES

We have two boarding hostels:

  • Marquesia hostel - this is the boys' hostel and is situated about 300 meters off the school campus, in a well-secured area. Pupils are driven to and from school for lessons and dinner by their housemaster, Mr. Thomas Kumwenda.

  • Baobab hostel - this is a girls' hostel located within the Lechwe campus. Ms. Mary Phiri the housemother.

Baobab hostel for girls

Each hostel has a full time house parent who lives in the same premises. He/She ensures the smooth running of the hostel routines.

The hostel has two dormitories, one for juniors (Forms 1 and 2), and another for seniors (Forms 3 - 6)

Junior dormitory

This has five beds and two study benches in it, and it has a common room for students to relax in. it has  bathroom and shower facilities with separate toilets.

The Senior dormitory

The set up in this dormitory is much the same as that of the junior one, except that it is divided onto four rooms, two of them having three bunk beds and one having only one bunk bed. Every room is equipped with study tables and there is also a study room.

Other facilities

The hostel has a common room with a television, video and M-Net decoder. These facilities are mainly used at the weekends.

The hostel has its own laundry and staff employed to wash and iron the boarders' clothes and clean the dormitories. However, the pupils are expected to help by making their beds and keeping the dormitories tidy.

The hostel has beautiful surroundings, which are maintained by a gardener.

The Girls Hostel- Baobab

The Girls' hostel, named 'Baobab', is situated on the school campus. It is in a modern building and can be descried as a beautiful, peaceful and quiet place. Just like the boys' hostel, it is subdivided into two sections; one for junior pupils and the other for senior pupils. The boarding parents live within the hostel building.

Rooms

Senior dormitories accommodate two girls, whereas the junior ones can accommodate four to six girls. There is also a study room, which is used for prep.

Laundry

The laundry is done everyday by the maids whose duties include the cleaning of the rooms and ensuring that the place is tidy and hygienic.

Entertainment

The hostel has a games room equipped with a video and DS TV facilities. This is mainly used at weekends.
